The MusicAfter "The Mickey Mouse Club" went off the air Britney went back to her home town in Louisiana. She dreamed of becoming a superstar just like her idols Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and Madonna.
Her First Break World Wide Fame Her next hit album Oops I Did it Again was released in April 2000 and became number one in twenty-five countries across the globe. Her world tour gained her an outstanding fan base that would rocket her into superstardom. Her third album entitled Britney would be the album Britney felt described her best. She had a hand in some of the songwriting that offered fans a closer look into her personal thoughts and feelings. I'm Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman is an example of her thoughts and feelings about growing up. Overprotected expresses how she feels about the lack of freedom she has experienced being a star. As much as she appreciates and loves what she does she sometimes feels the burden of notoriety. Being Famous She has shown tremendous backbone so far as she experiences the invasion of privacy that can break others down. Like many other stars everything she does is scrutinized and dissected by the media and the public. She has stayed true to who she is and has never wavered. Britney is a great example of a child star that has certainly made it. She keeps it real with lyrics that express the teen experience and wants to make a real difference for those who listen to her music. Britney's album In The Zone (Released: November 18, 2003) addresses more adult themes without taking away from her girlish innocent quality. MTV producers are already comparing it to Madonna's Ray of Light album. She has had a lot of the creative control on this project and she considers it to be her best work yet. One of her personal favorites on the album includes Touch of My Hand a song with a Middle Eastern influence. She compares it to the Janet Jackson tune entitled That's the way Love Goes. Some of the other tracks include an upbeat tune entitled Brave Girl and a great ballad entitled Every Time.
Some may say that the media has a right to intrude into the life of celebrities, but after Princess Diana's death mainly caused by the media's attempt to document her life raises the question; "How far will the paparazzi go to give us the details of a celebrity's life...and when is enough, enough?" When all is said and done, the fans will decide if they will continue to support Britney Spears. The lyrics in “Gimme More”, the first single, “Toy Soldier” and “Hot as Ice” give you the take on how Britney is feeling, in her own words.
