Brooke Shields Filmography

Brooke Shields is one of the few celebrities to have made the sometimes trying leap from child star to successful adult actor. Since infancy, she has been in the public eye due to her modeling. Brooke began her film career at the age of eight, starring in a murder mystery named Alice, Sweet Alice. She then went on to star in the notorious film Pretty Baby by Louis Malle, in which she played a pre-teen prostitute named Violet, opposite Susan Sarandon and Keith Carradine. The film was steeped in controversy since Brooke was a pre-teen during the production of this film, which included intense scenes of a sexual nature.

Pretty Baby is not the only career move for Brooke Shields that would stir up debatable issues. She also starred in Blue Lagoon opposite Christopher Atkins. The 1979 film depicts a pair of young teens stranded on a desert island, who soon succumb to their sexual urges and become lovers. A year later, Brooke once again delved into the world of young love with her portrayal of Jade Butterfield in Endless Love. She has worked with the likes of George Burns, Timothy Dalton, Shelley Winters, and Keifer Sutherland.

Brooke Shields has not only shone on the big screen, but has also done numerous television movies, such as After the Fall opposite Christopher Plummer, The Prince of Central Park, Wet Gold, and the Diamond Trap. She has had guest appearances on such popular sitcoms as Quantum Leap, Friends, Nip/Tuck, That 70’s Show, Hannah Montana, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Two and a Half Men.

Brooke Shields is also no stranger to the stage. While attending Princeton in the mid-80s, she became enamored with the art of live theatre. In 1994, she received rave reviews for her portrayal of Rizzo in the Tommy Tunes Revival of Grease. She has also performed in several other theatre productions, such as The Eden Cinema, Love Letters, Cabaret, Wonderful Town, and Chicago on Broadway.

In her most current role as Wendy Healy in Lipstick Jungle, Brooke Shields plays a powerful executive in the film business who, along with her two equally successful gal pals, struggles to balance all the elements of her existence. She navigates through life in New York City, dealing with the everyday challenges that success brings.
