TV and Movies
While on Full House, Mary-Kate and Ashley teamed with Robert Thorne to create their own production company called Dual Star. They were well on their way to becoming stars and soon released an album entitled “Brother for Sale” and a music video called “Our First Video”. While Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were marking their place on our television screens, they were also making successful straight to video movies. At the end of their run on Full House, the Olsen twins created their own video series called “The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley”. By then, their popularity was sky-rocketing and they made their big screen debut in 1995’s It Takes Two. They tried their luck once more with a new television series called “Two of a Kind” but it was short-lived. Unlike most child stars who fade away once their hot show goes off the air, Mary-Kate and Ashley managed to avoid that fate. Their popularity was at an all-time high and their straight to video sales were through the roof. They managed to win over television audiences as Michelle and were a hit especially with young girls. With so much success, it’s no wonder the Olsen twins are still going strong, recently releasing their first big screen starring roles in their movie New York Minute.
