Maureen McCormick: The Recording ArtistNot only is Maureen McCormick a successful film and television actress, but she is also a recording artist who has released a number of albums. During her time working on “The Brady Bunch,” young McCormick recorded four albums with members of the cast, and went on tour with them. However, producers saw the unique and raw talent of McCormick and encouraged her to record a number of tracks without the rest of the cast. In 1972, she released her first solo singles, “Truckin’ Back to You” and “Teeny Weeny Bit (Too Long),” which paved the way to her future success as a recording artist. A year later, she teamed up with fellow “Brady Bunch” co-star Christopher Knight to record the LP pop album entitled “Chris Knight and Maureen McCormick,” featuring solos and duets by both talented stars.
Maureen McCormick stopped recording music for more than 20 years, but in 1995, she went back into the studio. The result was a country album entitled “When You Get a Little Lonely,” which received positive reviews for the most part, but was not however a profitable financial success. In 1997, McCormick combined her acting and singing talents to play the role of country singer Barbara Mandrell in “Get to the Heart: The Barbara Mandrell Story,” a televised biography. In 2008, she participated in the CMT reality show “Gone Country,” whereby the contestants contended for a record contract.
