Miley Cyrus Biography
Miley
Cyrus was born in Franklin, Tennessee on November
23rd, 1992 to mother Leticia Finley and country
music sensation father Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley’s
real name is Destiny Hope Cyrus; she earned
the affectionate moniker “Miley”
as a child because she smiled so much (“Smiley”).
Miley has two older half-brothers, Christopher
Cody and Trace. Trace is the guitarist and vocalist
of Metro Station, an electronic rock project
based out of California. Miley’s family
also includes older half-sister Brandi, younger
sister Noah, who is also into acting, and a
younger brother named Braison. It is her bubbly
personality, explosive talent, and sweet charm
that have endeared Miley Cyrus to her avid fans,
earning her such awards as the Nickelodeon’s
Kid’s Choice Award for “Favorite
TV Actress”, and two Teen Choice Awards
for “Choice TV Actress” and “Choice
Summer Artist.” In December 2007, Miley
was ranked #17 on the Forbes list of Top 20
earners under 25.
Miley
takes on Montana
At the age of nine, Miley Cyrus became interested
in acting when her family was briefly living
in Toronto, Ontario. Her first on-screen appearance
was as a young girl named Kylie on her father’s
television show, Doc. She then went on to appear
in Tim Burton’s Big Fish, and was also
featured in Rhonda Vincent’s music video
“If Heartaches Have Wings.” At age
eleven, Miley auditioned for Disney and was
turned down due to her small size; however,
the persistent and driven Miley would not take
no for an answer, which led Disney to call her
back for more auditions when she turned twelve
years old. Disney soon chose Miley to play the
precocious Hannah Montana on their show of the
same name. Soon thereafter, executives at Hollywood
Records caught wind of the magic that is Miley
Cyrus and approached her with a record contract.
Before long, this multi-talented starlet was
catapulted into stardom, with legions of preteen
fans creating fan sites, paparazzi documenting
her every move, and some fake scandals rearing
their ugly heads in tabloids.
Branching out
Miley Cyrus branched out and left her Hannah Montana days in the past,
ending her Hannah Montana show with a full length movie in 2009. Her next
step would be a world tour where she said goodbye to fans as a Disney
teen. She then released an album titled ‘Breakout’ and began
her work as an “adult” recording artist. Her latest album
“Can’t Be Tamed” was released in 2010.
Miley has played roles in several full-length movies, including ‘Sex
and the City 2’ and ‘The Last Song’. Some of her more
recent roles can be seen in films such as ‘LOL: Laughing Out Loud’
and ‘Never Say Never’ filmed in 2010 and set to be released
in 2012.
In April, 2011, she embarked on an international tour in South America,
which ended on July 2, 2011 in Australia.
Although it was rumoured that Miley’s parents were divorcing they
have since reconciled and are trying to put their family back together.
Although Miley and her Australian boyfriend Liam have had their up's
and down's, they are still going strong.
